Mission & Vision

Our Mission:

To instill Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body.

Our Values:

Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility

Our Vision as the Fox Valley Family YMCA is to:
Strengthen the foundation of our community by ensuring that participants have the opportunity to learn, grow & thrive. We are dedicated to building healthy, confident, connected and secure children, adults, families and communities. Our impact is felt when an individual makes a healthy choice, when a mentor inspires a child and when a community comes together for the common good. We nurture the potential of every youth and teen, improve our areas health and well-being, and provide opportunities to give back and support neighbors.

Staff & Board Leadership

  • 1979
Our organization was created through the hard work and efforts of our Board of Directors who wanted a YMCA for their community.

• 1992
Over the years we grew from community based programs to store front facilities before building a 50,000 square foot facility in Plano, known as the Central Branch, in 1992.

• 1999
A capital campaign was held to construct the eight lane indoor Aquatic Center at the Central Branch.

• 2002
An expansion was completed and more space was added to the Fitness Center at the Central Branch.

• 2005
We opened our 14,000 sq. ft. West Branch in Sandwich.  Our current YMCA service area covers over a 28 mile radius, incorporating over 20 communities. Last year we served over 22,000 members.

• 2007
The addition of the 11,000 sq. ft. Early Learning Academy, incorporating Child Care and Preschool rooms, was opened at the Central Branch.
Funding from the Ted and Virginia Shaw Foundation has allowed the
YMCA Early Learning Academy to establish our first “Lending Library.”

We have an extraordinary opportunity to ensure a brighter future for Kendall County, but we must take action today, and only your support will make it possible. When you give to the Fox Valley Family YMCA, your generosity reaches children, families and seniors throughout Kendall County. Your gift will help young people achieve their potential, empower people of all ages to lead healthier lives, and strengthen the bonds of community.

Now, when you think of your YMCA you’ll know it’s more than just a gym…it’s a cause. A cause, that, with your generous support, will continue to strengthen the community in which you live. GIVE. AND DO SO MUCH MORE.

Walk into any of our program sites or our facility and you will see people of all ages and incomes. If a person or family is unable to pay for membership, scholarships are provided through donations from generous businesses, foundations and individuals. Over $50,000 from the YMCA last year was used to support membership scholarships and programs that change lives.

The demand for scholarships and program sponsors increases every year. More than 500 individuals received assistance last year. Your gifts are needed to keep the YMCA open to all. Contributions can be made with stock, cash, credit card, or through a small increase to your monthly membership bank draft.

In addition to annual contributions for scholarship and program support, the Fox Valley Family YMCA is actively reinvesting in facilities to meet the needs of kids, teens, families and seniors for generations to come. The YMCA Capital Campaign raises funds for capital investment. Every gift, large or small, is important as we look to your YMCA's future.

The Heritage Club is an organization of people who have shown their long-term interest and support of the Fox Valley Family YMCA by either a direct contribution to the Endowment Fund, or by including the YMCA in their estate plans. It is the commitment rather than the amount that is the basic factor in qualifying as a Heritage Club member.
